Red Eft is a new nonprofit organization fostering conservation and environmental protection through research, education, and opportunities to explore and connect with nature. We are dedicated to providing support to innovative projects, which we refer to as "actions." Funded with the support of the local and global community, through donations from individuals like yourself, and grants from concerned foundations and government agencies, distinct conservation action varies as each Red Eft project develops. Every year, Red Eft and its donors provide unique opportunities for community support of conservation action - by donating, you might be funding the hives of a researcher looking closely at why we are losing our honey bees, or a specialist making sure we aren't losing our big native silk moths, like Lunas, from the northern forests. Red Eft's action leaders invite you to their sites so you can participate directly! Each season we will offer events featuring actions that are open to the public and engage you in conservation through guided hikes and exploration of significant natural areas, opportunities to join action leaders in the field and spend an afternoon working along side them. Red Eft actions will vary year to year. Some may complete an action in a season, some in a few years. Other actions may get their start with Red Eft, and fledge into fully structured programs of their own over time. Red Eft is just getting started itself. Stay in touch and visit this site for announcements about how to get support for a conservation action you are ready to lead, ways to participate in conservation action, and how to support sustainable action in your community!
